From August 13 to 16, Spilimbergo returns to the early 16th century: a parade of local communities, a market, encampments, and tournaments through the streets of the historic center, thirteen kilometers from the Villa.

From August 13 to 16, 2026, the streets of Spilimbergo’s historic center will be transported back to the early 16th century. For four days, the Macia Historical Reenactment fills the city with ancient crafts, markets, encampments, period music, and ceremonies: archery contests, horse races, flag-wavers, castle dinners, and a parade of the city’s communities and arts guilds in honor of the Count.

The name comes from the macia, the ancient unit of measurement for the length of fabrics, in use as early as 1438 and still engraved today on a pillar of Palazzo La Loggia in Piazza Duomo.

Spilimbergo is thirteen kilometers from the Villa: the easiest way to enjoy the festivities is to arrive when the streets come alive and, in the evening, return to the tranquility of the park. If you’re planning a stay during those days, please write to us: we welcome guests by appointment.
