The centuries-old park

The green space that has accompanied the house since it was built: five thousand square metres enclosed by a wall of exposed stone, as Friulian tradition has it.

A historic garden

The park wraps around the Corpo dominicale and the Barchessa, and has done so since the eighteenth century. You enter from the village square through a portal of dressed stone: above it, carved into the stone and facing the villa, the crest of the Cigolotti family.

The perimeter wall is rectangular and built entirely of the exposed Friulian stone; it makes the park a closed, private place: children play safely, and nobody peers in.

In summer the grounds take far more than an outdoor ceremony: garden parties, dancing, open-air theatre and screenings under the sky. And in every season they are the natural setting for photo shoots.
